ThyroMobile Medical Mission Launch in Bukidnon

Bukidnon, one of the top 15 provinces identified by the DOST-Food & Nutrition Research Institute as an iodine-deficient area afflicting women of reproductive age, was visited by ThyroMobile on October 16, 2023. The launching was held at the Capitol Grounds in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. The event started from 9 am in the morning and ended at 6:30 pm in the evening with an estimated total of 180 patients.

The press conference was attended by the station manager of Juander Radyo Malaybalay 89.5 Ms. Joanna Cabigas together with her team and the Philippine Information Agency Bukidnon Manager Ms. Ruby Balistoy. During the press conference, Dr. Teofilo San Luis highlighted the importance of iodine intake and the significance of supporting Republic Act (RA) 8172, also known as the Asin Law. RA 8172 requires the mandatory iodization of all processed food salts in the Philippines.
